Oddly, most people wait until the thing starts to do that unbelievably annoying beeping to let you know the battery is dying. For me, the opportunity to avoid that is enough to get me to do what I am meant to do, and that is switch the batteries out every six months.

Now, you can put those batteries in other things that do not hold such weighty roles, like the shower radio, or maybe the buzzer in one of your family board games. If you think you will never be able to remember to do this, well just make it a habit when you turn back the clocks for daylight savings time. That will be very specific, and there is no room for mistake that way. In addition, it is a fine time for you to check on all your other batteries, to confirm they are not a fire hazard of their own. Check and double check on that to do list, feels good doesn’t it?

Making the ice larger than the regular cube size made it easier to avoid them, and to only scoop out the intended item, the festive punch. A more improved version of the deflective beam type is the click type. This type of wrench uses a calibrated clutch mechanism to reach the desired level of applied torque. When the desired torque is reached, the clutch slips, preventing additional tightening. Various types of click type wrenches exist for different applications and different torque ranges. Click type wrenches are precise when they are properly calibrated; however the more complex mechanism can result in loss of calibration sooner than the beam type.

The most modern and sophisticated types of wrenches are electronic. These tools operate by modern electronics. Some of these wrenches are programmable, and they measure the tightening angle from the snug point as well as the applied torque. The mechatronic torque wrench is a combination of the click type and the electronic. This wrench provides both digital and mechanical readings on the torque, and is equipped with wireless technology to transmit the readings. All of the measurements are transferred and documented via wireless data transmission.

Anyway, enough talk of Little House, as this is supposed to be about the wallpaper I luckily located by chance. But I must admit I did just go on a bit of a trivia tangent after locating the correct spelling of Oleson. Back to it, and then I can look into locating more trivia on that legendary series, as I can’t quite remember if Mary ever got her sight back. Funny how you can be all set to cover something that is actually of significance, and get off track so easily on to something so unrelated. Ok focus.

As I started off saying, I came across wallpaper when I wasn’t even thinking about changing my walls. What has pleased me most is that I found a collection by fashion designer Barbara Hulanicki. I have been a fan of her work since when she designed for the brand Fiorucci back in the 1980’s. Her style was my style throughout my tweens and teens. I still have every piece in a closet somewhere.

More recently, I knew she had started her own interior design business, and was receiving accolades for her work in that field. However, I was unaware of the fact that she was designing wallpaper, much less that it was available to the likes of me, and my unassuming budget. But once I happened upon it at the website I was perusing sofas on, I was in love.

I guess you can see a theme going here, I go off on tangents frequently. I still have not found the couch I initially went to the furniture stores to locate, but instead have multiple roles of wallpaper en route to my home. Maybe, after I have finished with that Little House trip down memory lane, I should refresh my recollection on how to remove old wallpaper, and put up new .

So, if you are ready to introduce new lighting, or already have bedside lights but are uncertain that they are the right height, take note. A lamp shade, when placed next to a bed, should be no less than twenty inches above the mattress. This allows for proper illumination, but does not produce glare. It might not seem that important, but once you correct any miscalculated placements you will see the tremendous difference. If you are not going to bringing in any other lights, then you can still make a change for the better. Take out any old light bulbs that give off harsh light and put in warm spectrum ones.

First off, if you have contact cases left over from before you had Lasik done, then get ready to make them workable again. They make wonderful containers for those medications you bring in your purse, or luggage. You can now carry around that headache relief without concern for it having worn through the paper baggie it came in. Never again will you find pills floating around in the bottom of your handbag.

Now, if you have wrapped bars of soap, they will make excellent pincushions. Not only will your pins and needles stand at attention till you call upon their services, but when you go to use them, the soap residue will have them gliding through the fabrics.

I guess from the time we become adults and purchase our first mattresses we never look back and think that we are not necessarily the wiser just because we have been through the process once. In fact, even after buying multiple mattresses, we still might be clueless if we followed in the footsteps of another, or relied upon a salesperson’s input. In retrospect, I now find it a bit funny that I knew so little when it came down to it, but am feeling more confident than ever before in my choice because I am well informed.

So, how should one go about picking out a mattress? Well, to get this answered I turned to a salesperson, who new I was not going to be buying from her because her store was over 100 miles away from my home, and the The Sleep Council. Yep, that’s right that actually exists.

The single most important piece of info I think I collected was that all of the major producers make descent mattresses. But what you need to be aware of is that the lower level models will often be unable to last as long as a top of the line one, because they generally are unable to support the weight placed upon it over the years. So, if you sleep alone and weigh very little you have more options, but if you and your partner share a bed and together are above average in weight you have more to think about.

The next most important thing I came across were the downloadable leaflets from The Sleep Council: the Bed Buyers Guide, the Sleep Good Feel Good Guide and the new Goodnight Guide for Children. Finally, they even have a questionnaire titled My Bed Profile, created to help you identify the characteristics of the new mattress and bed you should be looking for, based on your individual needs.

It is increasingly more common for people to eat better and exercise but the way we sleep seems to have been left behind in the health drive. De-modernising the bedroom may be the key to better sleep. Remove your television and your computer and take your bedroom back to what it is really about, your bed.

A relaxed environment will increase your ability to forget about the day you’ve had and concentrate on the night ahead. Dim the lights and have a bath, read a book, anything that doesn’t require your mind to continue working overtime.
